About Us

Jeremiah Perez

Don't try this at home folks, people were hurt during the making of this story. I can barely believe it myself but, it is what it is.

I started this bio by asking myself,... "self!, where were you born?". Well, I was born in San Jose CA. I lived on the east side of San Jose for the first 22 years of my life and moved twice in that amount of time where we moved from bad to worse.
Jeremiah Perez Jeremiah Perez

From the time I was about three, up to seven years old, fighting and break dancing are what I remember most, that and being raised by a single mother with a brother about a year older than me.

I started my third grade year with my mom getting married, and a move from a place the city called Story Book Land to a part of the city they called Little Bahamas. The city referred to these places as such because of the names that the streets were given. Everyone knew these areas to be the ghetto and there didn't seem to be any story book endings coming out of these neighborhoods .The only time we seen mice and pumpkins do anything magical was during halloween; when the mice and their fat rat relatives made pumpkins disappear while out on the porch. To me, the neighborhoods I lived in were more exciting than Disneyland. There was never a dull moment, and we had mice with big ears too. These neighborhoods would also promise to have you in for the ride of your life but in a literal sense.

Once we moved, fighting remained a big part of my life. Yeah, it was fighting and church. Theres nothing quite like being filled with the holy spirit and knocking the lights out of people. That was the pace for about three years, until church took the back seat.

Then gangs, fighting and working out became the only things I could count on to get me through the week. See, even though my family was religious, when I was out and about in the neighborhood there were other forces I had to deal with. In The old neighborhood there was a saturation with members of the same gang and so it was a little quieter and safer, if you can believe that.

The new neighborhood was bigger, with bigger problems. It had many overlapping gang members from opposite sides of the fence. This made for a wild ride anytime I went outside. I had as many friends 10 to 20 years older than me as I had in my own peer group. Most of these grown ups would encourage me to stay out of trouble especially when they were just released from prison. At the same time I would see them fight at the drop of a hat. Even if cops were around, hell sometimes they would fight with the cops.

By the way, I had to go to school too but I wasn't trying to hear any of that Nonsense.

Though I never ever looked for trouble, when it found me, I was willing to finish it. The mixed message was teachers, parents, police and really any other authority figure said fighting won't solve anything. When I did serve up a knuckle sandwich and a can of whoop ass, it was tasty enough that they only needed a single serving. Only one person ever asked for seconds. Almost every single time I fought, it resulted in me becoming friends with that person. Yes, even the second serving guy. Not everybody was friends with me after, but they didn't bother me ever again. My mistake is I used violence as a sole means to resolving conflict. Violence should only be used as a last line of offense and when your life is endangered.

It gets to be a sob story at this point so I'll spare you the details. The major turning point started my senior year in high school when a fight I got into nearly ended up with a friend being stabbed to death. My grandfather passed away shortly after that, and well people around me just started dying. No one I was especially close too besides my grandfather, but people in my life were dying.

They weren't just getting jumped, or stabbed, or shot, and then coming home. They were actually checking out. One was shot in the face as he confronted someone in a car and the other stabbed to death on the school basketball court. These kinds of things were common but they were now getting closer and closer to me.

That nagging compelling feeling that always told me I was suppose to be doing better than I was at that time, was getting louder and louder and louder.

I had almost been shot a couple times at this point, I was jumped a few times already, almost got stabbed a couple times and never thought anything of it. The reality is that's because, there were so many people growing up, or growing old along side of me, who had been through much worse.

That voice of reason was loud now, and I really started to care. I didn't want to die, I wanted to make a difference. The trouble I had been in was never because I enjoyed hurting people or because I thought I was a bad ass, I just didn't want people hurting me.

Without a doubt I needed to do other things and the catalyst for change was a man named Nirmalya Bhowmick.

Fortunately for me, I had not been in any serious trouble with the law, and passed a felony background check, which he required of me just to train in Military Muay Thai.

I had trained at his academy for a couple years in high school, before that I trained in other styles of fighting but not for very long since they weren't fit for the types of situations Id find myself in.

The craziest thing happened when I started to train and explore fighting techniques from around the world. The harder I trained, the less likely I was to tell you how much I liked you with my fist.

This was a great feeling, the more I learned, the less I fought, and I was becoming a happier person.

I trained with Nirmalya and his staff in the Oldstyles/Military styles of Muay Thai and I also trained in Close Quarter Combat. I became certified as an Executive Protection Specialist and pursued a career in high threat level executive protection. I studied the profession at a post secondary school and then at a university. An executive Protection Specialist sounds much sexier than it really is, and Id really prefer the movie version over the real life one. "I'll take my martini shaken not stirred" as opposed to hurry up and wait, know what I mean.

It's over 12 years into my studies and continue to train and teach as a junior level instructor in military Muay Thai and Close Quarter Combat. I now study ground fighting techniques, bare knuckle fighting, and combat styles from around the world in addition to many other subjects outside of fighting. Working out has remained a big part of my life and in an effort to understand and improve my body I became a Certified Massage Therapist , a certified Kettlebell instructor and Renegade Trainer.

I look foreword to changing peoples lives for the better by teaching based on my life experience.

I have over 25 years of street and martial arts experience. I have trained exclusively in combat and tactical fighting methods. I have been training in the combat forms of Ledrit which is the military version of
Daniel Sambrano Daniel Sambrano
Muay Thai, and Boar Bando which is an aggressive combat style from Burma. This in addition to my experience in life has given me viable first hand knowledge as to what is needed for surviving hardcore street encounters.

Having dealt with multiple attackers has given me a unique understanding and perspective on this type of assault and has motivated me to create a style of fighting to deal with these types of attacks.

I have trained military, swat, police, protection specialists, fugitive recovery agents, bouncers, ring fighters, martial artists and the average citizen. I have been able to adapt and customize training to their needs and abilities. I have also taught groups on awareness and rape prevention.

Even with my extensive background I am constantly updating and evaluating information that will give those learning from me the cutting edge in self protection tactics.

I was born into a family of hardcore street fighters and gang members that stretched from the streets of East San Jose to the brutal streets of East Los Angeles. Gang and Street Fights were an every day occurrence.

This real life experience has had the biggest influence on the no nonsense approach of training I employ to survive brutal street situations. I have been jumped more times than I care to remember. I have dealt with thugs drugged out of their minds, and assorted street scum who have used everything under the sun that you can imagine as a weapon. This includes knives, bats, crowbars, guns, chains, and bottles. This has motivated me to share my first hand experiences and teach my students to offensively defend themselves with a unique and highly effective system for surviving violence.

I've dedicated myself to helping my students gain wisdom through my experiences and knowledge. The goal for my outside of the box thinking, is to keep you from being buried inside the box, if you know what I mean.
